We offer a safe, long-term solution to unwanted, excess hair for both men and women. Treatment is suitable for the face and body and results can be seen after just a few sessions.
We’ve invested in the very latest technology from Lynton Lasers who are the UK’s premier manufacturer and supplier of aesthetic technology to both private clinics and the NHS with over 25 years experience.
How does laser hair removal work?
Light is selectively absorbed by melanin, the pigment in the hair follicle. The light energy heats the pigment and effectively destroys the hair follicle without damaging the surrounding cells.
The hair follicles are damaged by heat but the hairs initially remain in the follicles. The dead hairs shed after 1 – 3 weeks as the epidermis renews. During this period the hairs will seem to ‘grow’ as they are pushed out by the new epidermis.
Who can be treated?
Almost all people/skin types are suitable for treatment, although grey/white hair has no melanin so is not suitable for laser hair removal.
What to expect at your laser hair removal treatment
The applicator is placed on the skin and a short pulse of light is released targeting many follicles simultaneously. The applicator then glides to the neighbouring area of skin and the process is repeated until the entire area is treated.
The treatment sensation is often compared to “the flick of an elastic band”. Moreover, the MOTUS equipment is quicker than many other technologies meaning shorter treatment times and fewer sessions typically.
Treatments can take as little as 10 minutes to an hour depending on the size of the treatment area.
Skin may be red immediately after treatment and the hair follicles may be swollen and bumpy but this usually goes within a few hours.
How many treatments are necessary?
Only hair that is actively growing is affected, therefore, as with any laser hair removal equipment, multiple treatments are needed. We usually recommend appointments are between 4 – 8 weeks apart and typically 6 or more treatments are needed for best results.
